Gelenek ile Modernite Arasında İlahiyat: Metodoloji, Toplum ve Gelecek (Editör: Mustafa Çoban)

Öz:
İlahiyat, kökleri maziye uzanan derin bir gelenek içerisinde biçimlenmiş olmakla birlikte; tarihsel süreçte sürekli dönüşen insan, toplum, kültür ve düşünce yapısı karşısında kendisini yenilemek ve dinamik bir biçimde değerlendirmek durumunda olan akademik bir disiplindir. Bu yönüyle mazi ile hal, klasik ile modern, gelenek ile modernite arasındaki ilişki; çağdaş ilahiyat araştırmalarının en temel ontolojik ve metodolojik eksenlerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. “Gelenek ile Modernite Arasında İlahiyat: Metodoloji, Toplum ve Gelecek” başlıklı bu çalışma; ilahiyatın tarihsel birikimi ile çağdaş düşünce arasındaki bağını metodolojik, toplumsal ve geleceğe dönük perspektifler üzerinden disiplinler arası bir yaklaşımla ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Eserde; geleneği yalnızca edilgin bir biçimde muhafaza edilmesi gereken statik bir miras olarak gören sığ yaklaşımlar ile moderniteyi eleştirel süzgeçten geçirmeksizin ya bütüncül bir kabule tabi tutan ya da tamamen reddeden toptancı paradigmalar reddedilmiştir. Bunun yerine, her iki alanın da bilimsel, nesnel ve eleştirel bir yöntemle tahlil edilmesi ilke edinilmiştir.

Abstract:
Although theology has taken shape within a deep tradition whose roots extend into the past, it is an academic discipline that must constantly renew itself and dynamically reassess itself in the face of the ever-changing nature of humanity, society, culture, and thought throughout history. In this regard, the relationship between the past and the present, the classical and the modern, and tradition and modernity constitutes one of the most fundamental ontological and methodological axes of contemporary theological research. This study, titled “Theology Between Tradition and Modernity: Methodology, Society, and the Future” aims to examine the connection between theology’s historical legacy and contemporary thought through an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates methodological, sociological, and future-oriented perspectives. The work rejects both shallow approaches that view tradition merely as a static heritage to be passively preserved, and sweeping paradigms that either unconditionally accept or completely reject modernity without subjecting it to critical scrutiny. Instead, it adopts the principle of analyzing both fields through a scientific, objective, and critical methodology.
