Öz:
İnsan, hayatı boyunca içinde yaşadığı dünyayı anlamaya çalışırken, görünenin ötesindeki gerçeğe ulaşmaya yönelmiş; hayallerinde kurduğu dünyayı duygu, düşünce ve tecrübeleriyle biçime dönüştürmenin yollarını aramıştır. Sanatın ve tasarımın başlangıç noktası, görünen gerçekliğin sınırları dışında, insanın iç dünyasında biçimlenen hayaller, umutlar, hüzünler ve mutluluk arayışlarının gökyüzü ve doğanın döngüsü içinde değişen yaşam ritimleriyle anlam kazandığı; insanın kendisini, hayatı ve sonsuzluğu sorguladığı derin bir yolculuğa çıkmaktır. Bu anlamda hayal, insanın görünen dünyanın ötesine uzanan içsel arayışının ve henüz biçim kazanmamış düşüncelerinin kaynağı, imge ise duyusal, duygusal ve düşünsel sürecin görünürlük kazandığı, hayat ve zamana karşı kalıcı bir iz bırakma isteğiyle biçime dönüştürdüğü anlam alanını oluşturur. Sanatın tarihsel serüveni boyunca insan; tüm belleğini farklı kompozisyonlar, teknik ve malzemelerle yorumlamıştır. Sanat yapıtları görülen gerçeklikte mekan, yüzey, biçim, renk ve dokularla temsil edilirken; görünmeyen, hatırlanan, düşlenen kişisel ifade aracı olarak da izleyicilere sunulmuştur. Bu nedenle sanat eseri yalnızca somut bir nesne, tasarım ise yalnızca kurgulama eylemi değildir; her ikisi de insanın hayatı algılama, yaşam farkındalığı, anlamlandırma ve kendi konumuna ilişkin düşüncelerin görünür olma biçimidir. Bununla birlikte sanat, bireysel bir ifade alanı olmanın ötesinde; toplumsal yaşam, kültürel kimlik, çevre ve kamusal alanla kurduğu bağlar aracılığıyla estetik, işlevsel ve düşündürücü nitelikler kazanmakta; bu çok yönlü etkileşim, sanatın toplumsal ve kültürel yaşam içindeki yerini belirginleştirmektedir. Sanat ve Tasarımda Hayalden İmgeye, özgün akademik çalışmalarla yeni sorulara kaynaklık etme, düşünceleri artırma ve gelecekteki araştırmalara yön verme açısından anlam kazanan bir kitaptır.

Abstract:
Throughout their lives, as humans have sought to understand the world in which they live, they have strived to reach the truth beyond what is visible; they have sought ways to give form to the world they envision in their dreams through their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. The starting point of art and design is a profound journey—one in which dreams, hopes, sorrows, and the quest for happiness, shaped within the human psyche beyond the boundaries of visible reality, gain meaning through the changing rhythms of life within the sky and the cycles of nature; a journey in which humans question themselves, life, and infinity. In this sense, imagination is the source of humanity’s inner quest extending beyond the visible world and of thoughts that have not yet taken shape, while the image constitutes the realm of meaning where the sensory, emotional, and intellectual process becomes visible—transformed into form by the desire to leave a lasting imprint on life and time. Throughout the historical journey of art, humans have interpreted their entire memory through various compositions, techniques, and materials. While works of art are represented in visible reality through space, surface, form, color, and texture, they are also presented to viewers as a means of personal expression—embodying the unseen, the remembered, and the imagined. For this reason, a work of art is not merely a tangible object, nor is design merely the act of conceptualization; both are ways in which a person’s perception of life, awareness of existence, interpretation of meaning, and reflections on their own position become visible. Furthermore, art goes beyond being a realm of individual expression; it establishes connections with social life, cultural identity, the environment, and the public sphere.
