Umay Publishing House has been accepted into OAPEN and DOAB. Umay Publishing House has achieved the distinction of being the first publisher from Türkiye to be accepted into OAPEN.

Umay Publishing House has become the first and only academic publisher from Türkiye to be included in the JISC (Sherpa) list, which is recognized as the “gold standard” and a compass for transparency in global academic publishing! We are proud to be included on this list, which features 101 publishers, including industry giants such as SAGE, Elsevier, De Gruyter, Brill, and Routledge.

Benetech tarafından kurulan ve dünyanın en büyük, engelli bireyler için erişilebilir kütüphanesi olan BookShare ile resmi bir iş birliği anlaşması imzalayan Türkiye’de ilk ve tek yayınevi olduğumuzu duyurmaktan onur duyuyoruz. Bu anlaşmayla birlikte Umay Yayınevi’nin tüm kataloğu; görme engelli, disleksi, serebral palsi ve diğer baskılı materyalleri okumakta güçlük çeken bireyler için erişilebilir formatlarda sunulmaya başlayacaktır. DAISY, sesli kitap, büyük punto ve braille-ready formatları aracılığıyla okuyucularımız, içeriklerimize kendi ihtiyaçlarına en uygun biçimde ulaşabilecekler.

Umay Yayınevi, akademik yayıncılıkta uluslararası standartları benimseyen yenilikçi yaklaşımıyla, Türkiye’de Thoth Open Metadata ile anlaşma sağlayarak aktif olarak çalışan ilk ve tek yayınevi olmanın gururunu taşımaktadır. Günümüzde bir kitabın başarısı yalnızca içeriğiyle değil, aynı zamanda doğru, eksiksiz ve uluslararası standartlara uygun metadata (üst veri) ile temsil edilmesine bağlıdır. Thoth Open Metadata, özellikle akademik kitap yayıncılığı için geliştirilmiş dünyanın en gelişmiş metadata yönetim platformlarından biridir. Bilimsel yayıncılıkta sürdürülebilirlik, görünürlük ve uluslararası erişilebilirlik hedefiyle hareket eden Umay Yayınevi, metadata yönetimini yayıncılığın temel unsurlarından biri olarak görmekte ve bu alandaki öncü konumunu sürdürmektedir.

Umay Publishing House is an institution recognized as a “renowned international publisher.” In addition to meeting the definition specified in YÖK and ÜAK decisions—namely, “a publishing house that has been active at the international level for at least five years, whose published books are cataloged in the libraries of universities ranked among the top 500 worldwide by ranking organizations recognized by the Higher Education Council, and which has simultaneously published at least twenty books by different authors”— it holds the status of a “publishing house that has published at least 20 books in languages other than Turkish by different authors.” Click here to access information and documents from the international publishing house.
