Montessori, disiplinin dış baskıyla değil, çocuğun içsel motivasyonu ve özgür çalışmasıyla oluştuğunu savunur. Günlük yaşam becerileri, dikkat eğitimi ve bağımsızlık kazanımı üzerinde durur.
