Clarence G. Hamilton’ın Sound and Its Relation to Music (Ses ve Müzikle İlişkisi) adlı eseri, fiziksel akustik ile müzik teorisini birleştiren temel bir başvuru kaynağıdır. Çalışma; sesin oluşumunu, yayılmasını ve algılanmasını sistematik olarak ele alırken frekans, dalga hareketi ve rezonans gibi fiziksel özellikleri müzikal tizlikle ve ses yüksekliğiyle bağdaştırır.
