Amerika’daki oyun alanları hareketinin geliştiği dönemde kaleme alınan kitap, rekreasyonun akademik eğitime verilen basit bir ara olmadığını, aksine karakteri şekillendiren, sosyal iş birliğini artıran ve beden sağlığını destekleyen vazgeçilmez bir eğitim aracı olduğunu savunur.
