This volume is centered on Prof. Dr. Hatire Be\u015firli\u2019s research titled \u201cThe Tradition of the \u00c2\u015f\u0131k from the Perspectives of Social Memory and Cultural Identity (The Case of Azerbaijan)\u201d and offers a comprehensive examination of the \u00e2\u015f\u0131k tradition from historical, sociological, and cultural perspectives. The work examines a broad historical process\u2014spanning from the ancient roots of the ozan-baks\u0131 tradition to today\u2019s digitalized performance world\u2014through an interdisciplinary lens. This book is not merely an academic study intended solely for folklore researchers. It is also a valuable reference source for any reader seeking to understand the cultural roots of the Turkic world, how its social memory has been shaped, and the cultural tools through which identity construction is sustained. Transcending the technical analysis of poetic forms to become a \u201ccultural identity reading,\u201d this work opens the doors to listening to the sound of the saz not only with the ear but also with historical consciousness and cultural awareness. The tradition of a\u015f\u0131k poetry, which contributes to the understanding of the solid cultural foundations upon which future generations will build their own identities, once again demonstrates its enduring vitality and social significance that has persisted for centuries.
