<p><strong>Öz:</strong><br><em>The School and Society: Being Three Lectures</em> adlı eserinde John Dewey, geleneksel okul anlayışını eleştirerek pragmatist temelli ilerlemeci bir eğitim felsefesi ortaya koyar. Eğitimin hayata hazırlık değil, bizzat hayatın kendisi olduğunu savunur. Okul, demokratik toplumun bir yansıması olmalı; işbirliği, sorgulama ve anlamlı etkinlikler üzerine kurulmalıdır. Deneyim temelli öğrenme, el becerileri ve disiplinlerarası bütünleşme modern eğitimin temel unsurlarıdır. Dewey, çocuğu canlı bir toplumsal bağlam içinde konumlandırarak okul ile toplum arasındaki ilişkiyi yeniden tanımlar. Eser, çağdaş eğitim teorisinin kurucu metinlerinden biri olarak kabul edilir.<br><br><strong>Abstract:</strong><br>In <em>The School and Society: Being Three Lectures</em>, John Dewey presents a foundational critique of traditional schooling and advances a progressive educational philosophy grounded in pragmatism.
