<p class="gutenova-block-column block-60c7affa-00b3-4b0e-9549-476eeab1dfec"><strong>Öz:</strong><br>John Dewey’nin <em>Psychology</em> (Psikoloji, 1887) adlı eseri, Amerikan düşünce tarihinde Hegelci idealizm ile 19. yüzyılın sonlarında gelişen ampirik psikoloji bilimi arasında köprü kuran dönüm noktası niteliğinde bir çalışmadır. Bir ders kitabı olarak kaleme alınan eser, deneysel bulguları insan bilincine dair bütüncül bir felsefi çerçeveyle sentezlemeyi amaçlar. Dewey; zihinsel yaşamı bilgi, duygu ve eylem olmak üzere birbiriyle bağlantılı üç temel boyutta inceler. Zihinsel işlevleri soyut duyusal mekanizmalar olarak ele almak yerine, organizma ile çevre arasındaki dinamik ve amaca yönelik etkileşimler olarak tanımlar.
