<p><strong>Öz:</strong><br>Élie Halévy'nin <em>La Formation du Radicalisme Philosophique</em> (<em>Felsefi Radikalizmin Oluşumu</em>) adlı eseri, İngiliz faydacılığının (utilitaryanizm) kökenlerini ve gelişimini izleyen bir entelektüel tarih başyapıtıdır. Halévy, Jeremy Bentham ve aralarında James Mill'in de bulunduğu öğrencilerinin düşüncelerini titizlikle inceleyerek; onların felsefesinin "en büyük sayının en büyük mutluluğu" ilkesine dayanarak hukuk, siyaset ve ekonomide nasıl reform yapmayı amaçladığını analiz eder. Kitap, Felsefi Radikaller'i tanımlayan çağrışımcı psikoloji, klasik ekonomi politik ve hukuk reformunun sentezini araştırır.
