<p><strong>Öz:</strong><br>Lucy Jane Freeman’ın <em>Italian Sculpture of the Renaissance</em> (Rönesans İtalyan Heykeltıraşlığı, 1901) adlı çalışması, Rönesans dönemi heykel sanatının estetik gelişimini ve üslup dönüşümlerini inceleyen eleştirel bir rehberdir. Eser; 15. yüzyıl başındaki mekânsal yeniliklerden Yüksek Rönesans ustalık dönemine uzanan süreci Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Verrocchio ve Michelangelo gibi öncü isimler üzerinden takip eder. Freeman; heykeltıraşların klasik antik dönem ideallerini yeniden nasıl keşfettiğini, anatomik gerçekçiliği ve hümanist felsefeyi mermer, bronz ve pişmiş toprağa nasıl aktardıklarını analiz eder.
