Abstract:<\/strong>
The novel genre offers broader narrative possibilities than short stories and poetry. In the novel, it is not enough to simply grasp \u201cwhat is being told\u201d; it is also important to understand \u201chow it is told\u201d and the intellectual and aesthetic tools used to construct it. This volume, titled From Logos to Rhetoric: Studies in Modern Turkish Literature\u2014The Novel, brings together studies that examine the novel genre from various perspectives within Modern Turkish Literature. The concepts of \u201clogos\u201d and \u201crhetoric\u201d in the book\u2019s title are not merely theoretical terms; they aim to reveal the multilayered relationship within the novel between thought and expression, meaning and form, and content and narration. In this context, \u201crhetoric\u201d should not be understood merely as ornate or persuasive speech; the novel\u2019s relationship with the reader and its narrative methods must also be taken into account. In this regard, a novel should be read not only in terms of content but also at the level of discourse. \u201cLogos,\u201d which denotes the realm of reason and the effort to make sense of things, is a concept that seeks to explain reality based on causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
