Abstract:<\/strong>
Humanity\u2019s quest to produce, store, and transmit knowledge has been shaped throughout history by the limitations and possibilities of the dominant technologies of the time. From the invention of the printing press to the rise of mass media, the media has been one of the most powerful forces transforming social structures. However, the \u201cCyber Age\u201d we face today represents a completely different paradigm shift\u2014one whose direction and speed are unpredictable and which upends all the conventions of traditional media. This volume, Media Studies in the Cyber Age<\/em>, was written with the aim of holding a rational and critical magnifying glass to the very heart of this digital transformation. Throughout the book, the validity of traditional media theories in the cyber realm is debated, the social, political, and cultural implications of new media practices are examined, and efforts are made to make sense of the communication dynamics of a rapidly digitizing world. At the intersection of technology and humanity, the new language of media and its evolving function are addressed from a multidimensional perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
