Abstract:<\/strong>
Aya\u015f\u00ee-z\u00e2de Seyyid Mehmed wrote his poems under the pen name \u015eeyh\u00ee in the 17th century. Apart from Vek\u00e2yi\u2018u\u2019l-Fuzal\u00e2 and Tuhfe-i N\u00e2il\u00ee, no information about Aya\u015f\u00ee-z\u00e2de Seyyid Mehmed is found in biographical dictionaries of poets or other sources. They report that after completing his madrasa education, the poet turned to the profession of qadi and served in Anatolia, and that he died in 1080 AH\/1670 CE, citing a verse from his poetry as an example. There are 126 poems in the Divan. Of these poems, 103 are in the ghazal form. For this reason, it would be appropriate to describe \u015eeyh\u00ee as a ghazal poet. He used the rubai form 11 times, the qita form 2 times, the qasida form 9 times, and the terkibibent form in 1 poem. The most significant and striking aspect of \u015eeyh\u00ee\u2019s style is that it incorporates the influences of the Sebk-i Hind\u00ee movement. All the essential characteristics of Sebk-i Hind\u00ee are evident in his work, which consists of a small number of poems. This fact alone is sufficient to classify him among the Sebk-i Hind\u00ee poets. This two-part study includes the transcription and intra-lingual translation of the \u015eeyh\u00ee Divan. Part I is titled \u201cThe Life, Literary Personality, and Divan of Aya\u015f\u00ee-z\u00e2de Seyyid Mehmed \u015eeyh\u00ee.\u201d In Part II, after introducing the manuscript copy, the methodology followed in the text\u2019s composition is explained. This is followed by the transcription and intra-lingual translation of the Divan. A facsimile of the Divan manuscript has been appended to the end of the book.
