<p><strong>Öz: </strong><br>Harold Edward Gorst’un kaleme aldığı "Eğitimin Laneti" adlı eser, yirminci yüzyılın başlarında geçerli olan eğitim sistemine yönelik eleştirel bir inceleme niteliğindedir. Gorst, örgün eğitimin yaratıcılık ve bağımsız düşünce yerine ezberci öğrenmeyi ve uyum sağlamayı ön plana çıkararak, bireyleri gerçek hayata hazırlamakta çoğu zaman başarısız olduğunu savunur. Okulları, pratik becerileri ihmal ettikleri ve bilginin pasif bir şekilde kabul edilmesini teşvik ettikleri için eleştirir.
