<p><strong>Öz:</strong><br>Alexandre Vinet’nin <em>Essai sur la manifestation des convictions religieuses et sur la séparation de l'Église et de l'État</em> (Dini İnançların Açığa Vurulması ve Din ile Devlet İşlerinin Ayrılması Üzerine Deneme, 1842) adlı eseri, modern siyaset felsefesi ve dini özgürlükler alanında temel başvuru kaynaklarından biridir. Vinet, gerçek dini inancın tamamen gönüllü ve devlet baskısından uzak olması gerektiğini; resmi bir devlet dininin veya devlet destekli kilise yapısının hem inanca hem de yönetime zarar verdiğini savunur. Devletin yetki alanının strictly sivil ve maddi konularla sınırlı olduğunu, dinin ise tamamen bireysel vicdana ve ruhsal özgürlüğe ait olduğunu belirterek Kilise ve Devletin birbirinden tamamen ayrılmasını sistematik biçimde savunur.
