<p><strong>Öz:</strong><br>John Bell’in <em>Bell's New Pantheon</em> (Bell’in Yeni Panteon’u, 1790) adlı iki ciltlik çalışması, antik mitolojiyi ve eski dinleri ayrıntısıyla ele alan 18. yüzyıla ait çığır açıcı bir başvuru kaynağıdır. Bell; Yunan, Roma, Mısır, İskandinav ve Doğu geleneklerine ait tanrıları, yarı tanrıları, kahramanları, dini ritüelleri ve mitolojik figürleri sistematik olarak ansiklopedik bir düzende sunar. Dönemin nitelikli bakır baskı gravürleriyle zenginleştirilen eser, antik sikkeler, heykeller ve anıtlar üzerindeki mitolojik tasvirleri analiz eder. Yalnızca efsaneleri aktarmakla kalmayan Bell, mitolojiyi tarihsel ve sanatsal bir çerçeveye oturtarak Aydınlanma Çağı araştırmacıları ve sanatçıları için klasik ikonografiyi anlamada temel bir rehber oluşturmuştur.<br><strong>Abstract:<br></strong>John Bell’s <em>Bell's New Pantheon; or, Historical Dictionary of the Gods, Demi-Gods, Heroes, and Fabulous Persons of Antiquity</em> (1790) is a landmark two-volume 18th-century reference work detailing classical mythology and ancient religions. Bell systematically catalogs the deities, mythic figures, religious rites, and legendary icons of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Nordic, and Oriental traditions. Richly illustrated with detailed copperplate engravings, the text analyzes how classical myths were depicted in ancient coins, statues, and monuments. Beyond simple storytelling, Bell frames mythology through historical, artistic, and comparative lenses, providing Enlightenment scholars and artists with a comprehensive guide to understanding classical iconography and ancient polytheistic beliefs.</p>
